GRANVILLE, Ohio — The #9 Denison Women's Basketball put together a dominant performance inside Livingston Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon, rolling past Wooster 96–54 behind a fast start and relentless offense. The Big Red controlled every quarter and never let up, improving to 20–1 overall and 9–1 in NCAC play while protecting their home floor.
First Quarter: Denison set the tone early with relentless defense, turning stops and steals into quick offense on the way to a 27–11 first-quarter lead. After a slow opening few minutes, the Big Red found their rhythm with transition buckets, triples from Adelyn Moore, Brooke Toigo, and Isabelle McFadden sparked a big run, while forcing multiple Wooster turnovers. Denison's depth also showed at the line and on the glass, closing the quarter on another push to build a 16-point advantage heading into the second.
Second Quarter: The Big Red kept the momentum rolling in the second quarter. Abby Cooch knocked down free throws and a three, Toigo added a couple transition finishes, and Denison turned steals into easy baskets. A late three from McFadden and free throws in the final seconds helped the Big Red outscore Wooster 22–11 in the quarter and carry a 49–22 lead into halftime.
Third Quarter: Denison blew the game open in the third quarter, turning defense into offense and piling up points in transition. Steals from Cooch and Ada Taute jumpstarted a big run, while Violet Mitchell, Morgan Kress, Molly Dorighi, and Cooch added finishes inside and timely threes to keep the pressure on. The Big Red outscored Wooster 33–11 in the period, and Taute capped the surge with a buzzer-beating three off a steal to send Livingston Gym into a roar and push the lead to 82–33 heading into the final frame.
Fourth Quarter: Denison opened the fourth quarter by rotating in its bench and keeping the energy high on both ends. Toigo and Hannah Grudzien finished inside, while Jess Zittel, Gillian Magner, and others helped create extra possessions with steals and rebounds as the Big Red continued to score in transition. Wooster found a few late baskets, but Denison's depth kept the offense steady, pushing the lead into the 90s and closing out the 96–54 win.
