Granville, Ohio (Feb. 12): Following day two of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, the Denison men's swimming and diving team held strong to its first-place standings (708.5 pts). After holding a 51-point lead, the Big Red's lead ballooned to 111 points ahead of the next team. In second place is Kenyon with 597.5 points, followed by John Carroll with 360, and DePauw close behind with 350 for fourth place.
The Big Red got off to a quick start, earning first and second place in the 500 Free. Taking home Denison's first individual champion title of the day in the 500 Free with a time of 4:26.22 (B-cut) was sophomore George Goins. Just behind him in second place was first-year Hunter Raymer, with a time of 4:31.26. Denison would continue to its dominance on the podium with its first sweep of the championships in the 200 IM. Jack Hill earned the title of 200 IM champion after finishing with a time of 1:47.02( B-cut). Teammates Devin Testin and Luke Swiggett finished second and third, respectively, with Testin finishing in 1:48.18 (B-cut), followed by Swiggett in third with a time of 1:48.57 (B-cut).
Just before the break, the Big Red tacked on 61 more points after Nick Hensel and Cam Blevins-Mohr finished second and third, respectively, in the 50 Free. Hensel finished with a time of 20.03 (B-cut), and Blevins-Mohr took third with a time of 20.20 (B-cut).
Denison wrapped day two on top, with a first-place finish by Ben Bevill, Liam Nelson, Sam Hibbert, and Jack Hill in the 400 Medley Relay. The relay finished with a time of 3:12.79 (B-cut), and an additional 70 points to bring the Big Red's total to 708.5.
