Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

No. 10 Denison Cruises to 85–58 Road Win at Kenyon

GAMBIER, Ohio — The No. 10 Denison Women's Basketball turned in a dominant all-around performance on Saturday afternoon at Tomsich Arena, pulling away early and never looking back in an 85–58 NCAC win over Kenyon. Denison set the pace from the opening quarter and never let up, moving to 18–1 overall and 7–1 in NCAC play.

First Quarter: Kenyon struck first with a three-pointer, but Denison quickly settled in and answered with steady interior play to take control. Ada Taute sparked the offense with a steal, a free throw, and multiple finishes in the paint, while Adelyn Moore added a fastbreak three and layup to fuel a 12–2 run. The Big Red continued to attack the glass and get to the line late, closing the quarter on top, 24–16.

Second Quarter: Denison opened the second quarter with a three from Taute, but Kenyon answered with a quick run to trim the deficit. The Big Red regrouped behind their defense, as Taute scored twice in the paint and Brooke Toigo set up Abby Cooch for a fastbreak layup to swing the momentum back. Violet Mitchell and Molly Dorighi added baskets late to keep Denison comfortably in front, sending the Big Red into halftime with a 39–28 lead.

Third Quarter: Denison used a strong defensive stretch and second-chance opportunities to take control of the quarter, turning turnovers and offensive rebounds into points at the line and inside from Taute and Morgan Kress. After the media timeout, the Big Red pulled away for good as Isabelle McFadden and Mitchell converted at the line and from deep, while Cooch, Moore, and Taute added late buckets to extend the lead heading into the fourth, 64-40.

Fourth Quarter: Denison put the game away early in the fourth, forcing turnovers and turning defense into offense as Mitchell came up with a steal and Taute finished back-to-back layups to spark a quick run. The Big Red stretched the lead to 30 at the line before rotating in fresh shoes, and contributions continued to pour in with buckets from Hannah Grudzien, Jess Zittel from three, and late scores by Maeve Perry, Jamie Elliott, and Maeve Gaffney to seal the 85–58 win.
