Granville, Ohio-First year, Della Hawkins of the women's soccer team was named North Coast Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week for her performance in a 3-2 win over Capital University on Saturday.

Hawkins, coming off the bench, assisted with a goal in the 38th minute in the first half to help put the Big Red up 2-1 at the time. In the second half, coming off the bench again, she scored the game-winning goal in the 66th minute that put Denison up 3-1 at the time. This would be enough for Denison to take the win as Capital was unable to come back. This performance gave Hawkins her second goal and first assist of the season, bringing her points total to five on the season.

The 5-2-2 Denison team travels to Westerville, Ohio, for an evening match on Wednesday, October 1, at 7 p.m. against Otterbein University.
