Ada, Ohio — Denison women's soccer rallied in the second half to earn a 2-1 road victory over Ohio Northern on Tuesday night at Kerscher Stadium.
Ohio Northern (2-4-2) struck first late in the opening half in the 37th minute to carry a 1-0 lead into the break.
Denison (4-2-2) responded after halftime, outshooting the Polar Bears 9-2 in the second half. The Big Red found the equalizer in the 75th minute when first-year Lucy Perkins scored her first career goal off a setup from Mattie Mielke and Reily Brinley.
The Big Red struck again just under 10 minutes later, as first-year Ella Palmer netted her first career goal, the eventual game-winner, in the 84th minute from Avery Butler's assist.
Denison finished the night with a 13-8 edge in total shots, including 9-2 on target. Goalkeeper Molly Noga recorded one save in the victory, while the Polar Bears' keeper made seven stops.
The Big Red now 4-2-2, returns to Granville on Saturday, September 27, for a noon kickoff against Capital during Family Weekend.
