Hoboken, NJ —The preseason ranked No. 6 Denison men's soccer team opened its 2025 campaign with a 1-0 victory on Sunday afternoon at DeBaun Athletic Complex over No. 21 Stevens Institute of Technology.

The breakthrough came in the 75th minute when first-year forward Julian Bozzolo netted his first career goal to put the Big Red ahead. Bozzolo collected a one-touch pass, slipped past a defender, and buried his shot into the back of the net to secure the lead for Denison.

Denison dictated the pace of play throughout, finishing with a 9-4 advantage in total shots and a commanding 12-0 margin in corner kicks. The Big Red defense was equally strong, holding the Ducks to just one shot on goal to secure the shutout.

The physical battle saw three yellow cards issued, including one on Denison in the 73rd minute, just prior to Bozzolo's game-winner.

With the result, Denison improves to 1-0, starting the season with a hard-fought shutout on the string of road games.
