Gambier, Ohio- The No. 26 Denison women's tennis team traveled to Kenyon College to battle the DePauw Tigers in the North Coast Athletics Conference Tournament semifinals. The Big Red earned a first round bye for their second place finish in the regular season. Yesterday, the Tigers took down Wooster in a 4-0 decision. After clinching the point in doubles, Denison came out on top in a 4-1 decision following the clinch in singles.

Up Next: The No. 26 Denison team will square off against the No. 25 Kenyon Owls on Sunday for the NCAC championship.

*In the conference tournament, matches are played until "clinch"(denoted in scores), meaning that once the point/win is secured, the ongoing matches cease. 

In doubles, the pairs of Peyton Oda and Maia Nowicki and Charlotte Johns and Caroline Lopez made quick work of the Tigers to jump ahead to an early 1-0 lead.

Following in singles, the Big Red had their hands full with multiple matches down to the wire. Caitlin VanWinkle took down her opponent in straight sets to move the needle closer to a championship berth. Dasha Chistyakova quickly followed suit. Kassie Green was able to earn DePauw its lone point on the day. Senior Caroline Lopez slammed the door on the Tigers' tournament run as matches grew closer to completion, taking down her opponent in straight sets. Charlotte Johns and Anna Leach were ahead in their matches, but did not need to finish.
