Patrick Daly,
Christian Narcelles, and
Gavin Jones of the Denison University men's swimming & diving team have been named as Second and Third-Team Academic All-America® as selected by College Sports Communicators for the 2024-25 season.
Patrick Daly (New Albany, Ohio | Finance) is an 18-time NCAA Division III All-American, including for times in the 200 IM and three times in the 400 Free Relay. In conference, Daly has been named North Coast Athletic Conference Newcomer and Swimmer of the Year (2021-22 and 2023-24), is an eight-time NCAC champion, tacking on his final four titles during the 2025 NCAC Swimming and Diving Championships, where he broke the NCAC conference record in both the 100 and 200 IM (49.57, 1:46.58). Daly is a two-time First-Team College Swimming & Diving Coaches Associaion of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American (2022-23, 2023-24) and an NCAC Academic Honor Roll recipient (2023-24). Daly earned a spot on the Academic All-America® second team for his efforts this year.
Christian Narcelles (Springfield, Ohio | Biochemistry) earned a spot on the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving National team for the first time after placing second in the 100 IM and swimming the third leg on the first-place 200 and 400 Medley Relay teams at the 2025 NCAC Championships. At the NCAAs, he earned his first All-American finish in the 200 Medley Relay. Narcelles is a two-time NCAC Academic Honor Roll recipient (2022-23, 2023-24) and a second-team CSCAA Scholar All-American (2021-22). He was most recently awarded the Ted Barclay Top Five award at the 14th annual Top 50 Athletics Awards Ceremony. Narcelles earned a spot on the Academic All-America® second team for his efforts this year.
Gavin Jones (Bellingham, Wash. | Economics and Communication) is a nine-time NCAA Division III All-American, including two times in the 200 Breast, 400 IM, and 800 Free Relay. He is a five-time All-NCAC swimmer at the conference level, most recently winning the 800 Free Relay title in 2025. Jones is a three-time First-Team CSCAA Scholar All-American (2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24) and a two-time NCAC Academic Honor Roll recipient (2022-23, 2023-24). He was most recently awarded the Ted Barclay Top Five award at the 14th annual Top 50 Athletics Awards Ceremony. He was named one of ten Denison students to receive the prestigious President's Medal a week later. Jones earned a spot on the Academic All-America® third team for his efforts this year, marking the second time in his career that he has earned an Academic All-America® nod.
This brings Denison's count to 125 Academic All-Americans® winners in school history. Daly and Narcelles are first-time Academic All-Americans® honorees, while this marks the second time Jones has received this distinction, bringing the men's swimming and diving Academic All-America® recognition to 30.
Created in 1952, the Academic All-America® program, selected by College Sports Communicators, is a premier, nationwide college scholar-athlete awards program. It recognizes over 1,400 outstanding student-athletes annually in Division I, II, III, and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
