The Denison Big Red celebrate Senior Day, on Saturday, April 12, just before their 9 a.m. matchup against Wittenberg University. Following its match against the Tigers, the Big Red will also take on Carnegie Mellon University at 2 p.m.

In match one of the day Denison came out energized, jumping ahead of Case Western 1-0 following double play. The duo of Colin Gramley and Jacob Patterson made quick work of the Spartan's Leon Chen and Jon Totorica, beating them 6-3, on court two. On court three Andreas Chapides and Nick Meyers secured the first point of the day for Denison after defeating Case Western's Ajay Mahenthiran and Roahn Bhat 6-4.

In singles play the matches were tightly contested, but Denison absorbed the energy from its home crowd and pulled off its eighth win in a row and sixth top 15 victory of the spring season. Much like doubles play the Big Red secured a quick second point after Ethan Green defeated Mahenthiran 6-2, 6-2 on court one. The Spartans would cut the lead in half after Matthew Plunket beat Meyers 6-1, 6-2 on court four, however on court two, Patterson battled George Kosseifi 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) to put Denison back up by two. With the two teams playing to decision the match was officially clinched by the Big Red on court three by Kael Shah, who defeated his opponent 7-5, 7-6, which wrapped right around court five was won by the Spartan's Casey Hishinuma.

Catching up with head coach David Schilling after the game, he shared that, "It was a great team win today. Case is always one of the best teams in the country. They fight incredibly hard and they are as well coached as any team in Division III. We know it'll never be easy against them, and today certainly wasn't. We don't have a lot of time to feel good about it as we have three more matches this weekend so lots of work to do."
