Box Score 2 Raleigh, N.C.- The Denison University softball team continued action in the Grand Slam Triangle Classic today, moving their record to 3-1 on the weekend. The Big Red offense complemented the defense, outscoring opponents 16-9 Â on the day.Â

Game 3: (Denison 12, Mary Washington 4)
The Denison bats stayed hot, driving in 12 runs on 15 hits. Senior
Annabelle Calderon continued to punish softballs, going 2-3 with a home run in her first at bat. First-year, third baseman
Carley Melton was consistent at the plate, going 3-5 on three base hits. In the circle,
Madilyn Moffitt collected her second win of the season and split duties with
Andrea Care. The duo allowed four runs through 7.0 innings and struck out five. The Big Red rattled off their third win in a row with a 12-4 decision.Â
Game 4: (Denison 4, No. 23 Randolph Macon 5)
The Big Red battled in a 7.0 inning battle with No. 23 Randolph-Macon, ultimately coming up one run short in a 5-4 decision.
Annabelle Calderon blasted two homers while
Jacqui Abogado knocked out another.
Brooke Surbaugh battled the entire contest in the circle, sitting down two and allowing three earned runs. Denison showed a valiant effort in the bottom of the 6th inning with a three-run showing, but came up one run short. The game totaled nine runs on 17 hits.
