Up Next
The Big Red have another set of matches on Sunday, March 30. Match one will occur in Cleveland, Ohio, against Washington and Lee at 8 a.m., followed by a match against The College of Wooster at 2:30 p.m. in Granville, Ohio, inside the Mitchell Fieldhouse.

Match 1- No. 4 Denison vs No. 10 WashU
In the day's first match, the Denison Big Red jumped to a 1-0 lead over the Bears after winning two of the three doubles matches. On court one, WashU's Pato Garcia Muriel and Stefan Hester defeated Kael Shah and Ethan Green 6-1 for the lone doubles victory. Denison's Colin Gramley and Jacob Patterson would answer with a 6-2 decision on court two, knotting the match at one. Securing the doubles win was Big Red pair Andreas Chapides and Nick Meyers, who battled Scott Yamamoto and Drew Koval for a 6-4 victory on court three.

In singles play, Ethan Green and Nick Meyers defeated their opponents on courts three and four, respectively, giving Denison a substantial 3-0 lead. The Bears' Eric Kuo would cut into the Big Red's lead with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Jacob Patterson on court two, however on court five, Andreas Chapides clinched the win for Denison with a tightly contested 6-3, 7-5 victory over Drew Koval. Anthony Payiavlas earned the final victory for the Big Red after holding off WashU's John Fakouri 6-3, 5-7, 1-0.
When asked about how Denison played in their first match of the day, David Schilling stated, "It was an outstanding team win. This match reflected the depth of our team. Most of the year, we heavily relied on #1 doubles and #1, #2, and #3 singles. We only won one of those four matches today, but we had a solid 5-2 win over a top-10 team.
Schillings also had to give a shout-out to #3 doubles duo Chapides and Meyers. "I thought Andreas and Nick played their best match of the year at #3 doubles, and we carried that momentum into singles."
