Granville, Ohio- The No. 6 Denison baseball team hosted the Student Princes of Heidelberg University in a midweek matchup. The Big Red found themselves in a 1-1 ballgame heading into the 5th inning before rattling off 13 unanswered runs to close out the game. The 14-1 decision moves Denison to 8-2 on the year, as Heidelberg falls to 4-7 overall.

Denison 14, Heidelberg 1
A defensive battle broke wide open in the 5th inning in favor of the Big Red. Denison kicked things off in the second inning with an RBI double off the bat of Cade Nowik. The Student Princes responded with a run of their own to knot things up at 1-1 in the fourth. Denison proceeded to launch back-to-back home runs, courtesy of Kuyper Lashutka and Alex Vasquez. Erik Sundgren continued to punish the ball, tacking on yet another home run to his season total. Sundgren had four RBIs on the day. Eron Vega and Jack Steel also added runs to the total.

Denison used six arms out of the bullpen on the day. Sophomore Sam Larson got the start on the bump. Ryan Starr, Michael Gray, Ryan Paganelis, Noah Shapo, and Mahoney Daunic aided in the win. Collectively, the Big Red allowed four hits with four walks while sitting down 14 by strikeout. 

Erik Sundgren led the offense, totaling four RBIs on the day. Alex Vasquez was a perfect three for three at the dish.
