Granville Tournament: Denison Falls to Adrian, 13-3

Granville, Ohio: The No. 6 Denison baseball team is hosting the Granville Tournament this weekend on Big Red Field. Alongside the Big Red, No. 21 Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets, Adrian Bulldogs, and North Central Cardinals come into town for the weekend showcase. A neutral site game between Baldwin Wallace and North Central kicked things off, resulting in a 19-2 decision favoring the Yellow Jackets. Denison opened the weekend with a battle with the Bulldogs from Adrian College. With a 13-3 decision in favor of the visitors, the Big Red move to 8-3 and the Bulldogs rise to 6-6.

Up Next: Saturday will feature a neutral site showdown between Adrian and Baldwin Wallace at 10:30 a.m. Denison will take on North Central at 2 p.m.

Game 2: (Denison 3, Adrian 13)
The Big Red were unable to come out victorious in a nine-inning battle with the Bulldogs of Adrian College. Adrian fed off the dominant start from junior righty, Jaxon Clark. Clark went 6.0 innings, allowing zero runs on seven hits. Easton Rogers launched a three-run homer in the 4th inning to spark the Bulldogs' victory. The Big Red used seven arms in the loss. Will Rettig picked up his first loss of the season and Ryan Starr, Jack Rollo, Mahoney Daunic, Noah Shapo, Andrew Clifford, and Max Mullen made appearances out of the bullpen. The staff combined for five strikeouts and allowed 13 runs on 14 hits. 

Sophomore lefty Jack Lutte led Denison's offense. Lutte went 2-4 at the plate and picked up two RBIs. Eric Colaco and Erik Sundgren also had two hits a piece. The offense left 12 runners on base in the loss.
