Haverford, Pa.- Wrapping its weekend on the road, the #5 Denison men's tennis team completed its two-match road trip with a 6-1 victory over Haverford, following its 5-2 victory over #9 Swarthmore earlier the same day. The Big Red improved its record to 5-1 for the season, while the Fords drop to 1-2.
Denison opened play against Haverford with a 1,2,3 sweep in doubles play. On court one,
Kael Shah and
Ethan Green defeated the Ford's James McKenzie and Justin Minerva 6-3, followed by
Jacob Patterson and
Colin Gramley beating Arboleda and Kilmer 6-2 on court two.
Chika Nwaozuzu and
Kyle Patrick completed the doubles sweep with a 6-4 win over Miano and Bortan on court three.
The Big Red up 1-0 over Haverford, continued to dominate in singles matches. Nick Meyer put Denison up by two in singles play after defeating Owen Kilmer 6-1, 6-1 on court three. On courts one and two

Jacob Patterson, who defeated James McKenzie 6-3, 6-3, clinching Denison's fifth victory of the season. In the final three singles matches, Denison would finish 2-1, after
Kyle Patrick kept his cool despite winning his first set in a tiebreak and staving off his opponent in the second set. Securing the Big Reds' sixth and final win of the day was
Anthony Payiavlas, who beat Chait Krishna 6-4, 6-4, on court five.
It was a quick turnaround for our guys after a long, and emotional match vs. Swarthmore. We played on a different surface in a different building 25 minutes away," said head men's tennis coach
David Schilling. "I gave the guys a very difficult assignment, and they did a really nice job handling their business.
Up Next
The Big Red have a two week break before traveling to California for their spring break trip. While out in California, Denison will take on #32 Chapman University, # 19 Redlands, and participate in the Stag Hen Tournament on Friday, March 21, where they will face as many as three top 15 programs.
