Granville, Ohio- The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced its 2024 Division III National Academic Squad and six Denison University field hockey team members were named to the squad, first-year
Madden Phelps was also named to the 2024 Division III Scholars of Distinction list.
The NFHCA National Academic Squad program, sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, honors undergraduate student-athletes who have exhibited academic excellence. This academic award recognizes individuals who have attained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through the fall semester and who have been nominated by their NFHCA member coaches.Â

Among the six members named to the National Academic Squad, Phelps was one of over 550 exceptional undergraduate student-athletes to be recognized as a 2024 Division III Scholars of Distinction. This program acknowledges undergraduate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher through the fall semester, nominated by their NFHCA member coaching staff.
