Granville, Ohio-Â The undefeated Denison Big Red women's basketball team returned to Livingston Gymnasium to host the 5-2 Spartans from Case Western Reserve University. The Big Red were able to remain perfect, sending the Spartans home with a loss in a 74-61 decision.
First Quarter: Case Western jumped out early, setting the tone with a fast and efficient offensive start. Denison trailed by six midway through the quarter and again in the final two minutes, but a late three from senior Brooke Toigo gave the Big Red a spark, trimming the deficit to three at 19–16 heading into the second.
Second Quarter: Both teams traded leads, but a run of threes from Brooke Toigo, Isabelle McFadden, and Violet Mitchell put the Big Red firmly in control for the rest of the half. Neither team managed a shot after the two-minute mark until the Spartans converted a late layup, but Denison still carried a 34–28 lead into the break.
Third Quarter: The Big Red built their largest lead of the game at 15 points. Cooch opened the second half with back-to-back threes to extend the advantage to seven, while Taute and McFadden each added a three-pointer. Cooch added another three at the 1:38 mark. With under five seconds remaining in the third, Taute converted an And-One, giving Denison a 15-point lead heading into the final quarter, 58–43.
Fourth Quarter: The Spartans mounted a push, scoring 18 points in the quarter and opening with a 7–0 run. Hannah Grudzien and Cooch made their presence felt at the free-throw line before Adelyn Moore drained a three to extend the lead to 12. The Big Red maintained control the rest of the way, securing a 74–61 victory.

Abby Cooch led the team with 18 points, three rebounds, and two steals, going a perfect 2-for-2 from the free-throw line. She is now just one rebound shy of reaching 300 in her career.

Violet Mitchell scored 11 points, led the team with six rebounds, and added three assists.

Ada Taute finished with nine points, five rebounds, four assists, and a steal.
