Granville, Ohio -Â After a long break, the Denison Big Red men's basketball returned to Livingston Gymnasium for an out-of-conference battle with the Bulldogs from Adrian College. The Big Red offense caught fire early and drilled 15 threes to take down Adrian in a convincing 86-73 decision.
First half: The Big Red set the tone early when a three from senior Nick Heath found the bottom of the bucket just six seconds into the game. This would mark Heath's first of four threes in the first half. Aidan King, Owen Giannoulias , and Samson Zach also added threes. Both teams were nearly equal in overall field goal percentage but the biggest separation was rebounds. Denison outrebounded Adrian 25-11 in the first half, most strikingly holding the Bulldogs to zero offensive rebounds. In the first half of play, 10 different Big Red players scored. Denison closed the half on a 6-0 run.
Second half: The second half saw no change from the Big Red offense. Heath kicked off the half with yet another shot from beyond the arc. Heath would finish with 18 points and went 6-11 from deep in the win. On the night, Denison had seven different players connect from three. Ellis Appiah and King were a perfect 2-2 on threes. King would finish with 10 points. Luke Salkowski was a force in the paint, tallying 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. In an overall dominant performance, Denison out rebounded the Bulldogs by a total of 38-21. On the offensive side of the rebound column, the Big Red outmatched Adrian 16-2.Â
