Big Red Splits the Day, Beating Fordham 8-1, and Falling to Navy 9-0

Annapolis, Md.- Notching its first victory of the season the Denison men's squash team defeated Division I Fordham 8-1. Just after a definitive victory over the Rams, the Big Red fell to Navy 9-0 to close out its Saturday competition. The Big Red move to 1-3 for the season, while the Rams drop to 1-2, and Navy remains undefeated with three wins.

En route to their 8-1 finish, Ross Falcon, Jackson Bragman, and Owen Mullaly battled for their 3-1 victories. In the fourth position, Falcon dropped his first game, but came surging back in the final three for a Big Red victory. Bragman would hold a 2-0 lead over his opponent in the five-position, but would fall in the third game 11-8. Looking to secure his first win of the season, Bragman battled for just over 50 minutes to beat his opponent 14-12 for a 3-1 win. Finally, Mullaly also found himself in a 1-0 hole, after dropping game one 11-9. Much like Falcon, he dominated in the final three games, holding his opponent to just 11 points total.

Coming off a definitive win over Fordham, the Big Red faced its third top-20 opponent in a span of a week, the No. 15 Naval Academy. Though Denison fell to the Navy 9-0, the Big Red's top four spots put up a fight, averaging forty-minute matches, and scored a total of 152 points amongst the four players against the Division I opponent. Alex DeLuca in the third spot, and Ross Falcon in the fourth spot, combined for three games won across the afternoon.
