Greencastle, Ind. — The no. 25 nationally ranked Denison men's soccer team fell 3-1 to DePauw in the NCAC Championship on Saturday afternoon at Reavis Stadium.
DePauw opened the scoring in the 23rd minute before the Big Red equalized early in the second half when Jack Rice converted a goal in the 50th minute, set up by Phil Koutsaftis.
The Tigers regained the lead in the 69th minute and added another goal in the 82nd minute to secure the 3-1 victory.
Both teams finished with 11 shots, with Denison holding a 7-5 edge in corner kicks. Goalkeeper Alex Provost made five saves for the Big Red.
Denison closes the season with an impressive 14-2-3 record after reaching its second straight NCAC Championship match. With a strong overall résumé, the Big Red remain in contention for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, which will be announced during Monday's NCAA Selection Show.
