#17 Big Red Tie in Rainy Midweek Conference Bout

Granville, Ohio - Following Saturday's dominant road victory, the 17th-ranked Denison men's soccer team drew 1-1 with the Wabash College Little Giants. With the tie, Denison's record goes to 12-1-3 (4-1-2 in conference) while the Little Giants now find themselves at 6-11-1 (2-5-1).

After the Big Red failed to cash in on a few early chances, Wabash got on the board first, punching in its only goal of the night in the 15th minute. The Little Giants would hold off the Big Red for the remainder of the half, despite facing nine shots and giving up three corners in the half.

As the evening drizzle intensified, so too did the match's physicality. Neither team shied away from contact, as the first half saw nine fouls.

Early in the second half, the Big Red drew the first of seven yellow cards on the night. Senior Kameron Kist took the ensuing free kick, finding the back of the net with a missile off his right foot to even the match.

The Big Red played with renewed energy the rest of the half, getting 11 shots off in the half compared to Wabash's two.

Of the Big Red's 20 shots in the game, eight of them were on goal. Wabash, on the other hand, had 8 total shots, with two of them on goal.

Up Next for the Big Red

Denison will travel to University Heights, Ohio, to take on their final regular-season opponent and the newest member of the North Coast Athletic Conference, the John Carroll Blue Streaks. The match will likely have conference tournament implications, as the Big Red currently trails the conference-leading DePauw Tigers by just one point.
