University Heights, Ohio – The No. 15 nationally ranked Denison men's soccer team secured a 3-0 road victory over John Carroll on Saturday afternoon inside Don Shula Stadium at Wasmer Field.
Denison struck first in the 19th minute as Henri Heyes headed home a corner delivered by Kaden Kist. The Big Red extended their lead in the 79th minute as Phil Koutsaftis was able to beat off a defender to slide the ball past with a well-placed pass from Eli Taylor and Dominic Pellock.Two minutes later, Henry Gallum finished the scoring, redirecting a header from Zarius Eusebe past the Blue Streak defenders after Miles Crosser delivered it from the corner.
Denison outshot John Carroll 16-7, including nine shots on goal, and held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks. With the win, Denison improves to 13-1-3 overall and 5-1-2 in NCAC play, while John Carroll falls to 7-8-4 (3-3-2 NCAC).
Denison advances to the NCAC tournament semifinals and will await their first opponent, set to compete on their home turf.
