Greencastle, Ind - In a battle of conference unbeatens, the Denison men's soccer team endured their first loss of the season to DePauw in a defensive battle, 1-0. It is the Big Red's first conference loss since the 2023 season. Denison drops to 10-1-2, while DePauw improves to 8-2-3.

Both high-powered offenses could not get anything going in the first half, as DePauw held a 5-1 shot advantage while the Big Red had a 5-0 edge in corner kicks. First-year goalkeeper Alex Provost was kept on toes throughout the half, saving two shots to keep the contest knotted at 0-0.

The Tigers would keep up the offensive intensity, firing off three shots in the first 30 minutes of the second half. The Big Red had an opportunity, as Julian Bozzolo had a shot on target but was saved. At the 86th minute, DePauw's offensive persistence paid off, as Braden Murphey rifled a shot into the bottom right corner for the only score of the game, which they would hold onto and win.

DePauw topped Denison in shots 13-3, with only one being on target for the Big Red. Denison did lead in corners 7-1 but could not capitalize. Both teams would get scrappy, as the Tigers led in fouls 21-8, and junior defender Andrew Nachtwey had the lone red card of the match at the 40th minute mark.

Provost would save four shots, as it is only the fourth time the Big Red have been scored on all season.
