GRANVILLE, Ohio — The Denison University women's squash team celebrated Senior Day in style, delivering a dominant performance with two impressive victories over Bucknell University and the University of Chicago. The Big Red honored seniors Antoinette Ramsey, Virginia Lawrence, and Charlotte Sigg, who played pivotal roles in securing a 9-0 sweep of Bucknell and an 8-1 triumph over UChicago.

The day began with a flawless display against Bucknell. Denison not only secured a 9-0 victory but also did so without dropping a single game across the lineup. Senior Antoinette Ramsey led the way at the No. 1 spot with a commanding 3-0 win over Charlotte Brauer (11-0, 11-5, 11-4). Fellow seniors Virginia Lawrence and Charlotte Sigg also shone, with Lawrence cruising to a 3-0 victory at No. 4 (11-1, 11-2, 11-3) and Sigg dominating at No. 5 (11-1, 11-5, 11-1). The team's depth was on full display, with all nine players earning straight-set wins.

In the afternoon matchup, Denison faced a tougher challenge from UChicago but emerged victorious with an 8-1 win. Lawrence and Sigg delivered strong performances once again. Lawrence swept her match at No. 4 (11-2, 11-2, 11-1), while Sigg delivered another commanding 3-0 win at No. 5 (11-3, 11-4, 11-2).

Other highlights included strong performances from Amelia Keng at No. 2, who went undefeated on the day with a pair of straight-set wins, and Tess Lanza, who earned a hard-fought 3-1 victory against Daphne Volpp in the second match. Lane Harding, Madeleine Ruggie, Markley Peters, and Nora Afzali also contributed crucial wins across the weekend.

With the pair of victories, Denison continues to build momentum as they look towards next weekend where they will face off against Chatham University.
