KALAMAZOO, Mich. (Sept. 29) – The Denison University women's tennis team competed in the annual ITA Central Region Championships in Kalamazoo, Mich. 
 
Highlighting the participation was the advancement of Peyton Oda and Maia Nowicki into the quarterfinals in doubles competition. 
 
The pairing posted two wins in doubles play. Oda and Nowicki opened with an 8-2 win over Abby Cruser and Julianne Sheldon of Ohio Northern. Oda and Nowicki then secured a narrow 8-6 victory in the round of 16. Caitlin Bui and Eleanor Archer of Wash U ended Oda and Nowicki's run in the quarterfinals by an 8-3 score.  
 
Caitlin Vanwinkle, Peyton Oda and Caroline Lopez all moved into the round of 32 in singles play before being eliminated. 
 
Denison will return to competition during the spring. The Big Red will face Hope College on Feb. 14.
