LEXINGTON, Va. (April 3, 2024) – Tommy Quinson scored five goals during a 7-1 second quarter to help lead the Denison University men's lacrosse team to a 22-6 win during its final nonconference game of the regular season on Wednesday night at Transylvania University.

Luke Fisher scored back-to-back goals just 21 seconds apart to open the scoring in the first five minutes of the game, and then the Big Red led 4-1 at the end of the first quarter after goals by Nick Vance and Jack Hines in the final five minutes of the period.

In the second quarter, Denison scored six straight goals in the final 10 minutes while Quinson finished with five goals in the period and scored four goals during the 6-0 run, including scoring each of the final three goals before halftime.

The Denison defense, meanwhile, worked hard to limit Transylvania to only three shot attempts and a 50 percent conversation rate (6-for-12) on clear attempts in the first quarter and finished with just seven shots allowed compared to eight caused turnovers in the first half.

In the end, Quinson (6 goals; 1 assist) tied his career-high in goals, finished with seven points and had a team-high five groundballs while Fisher (4 goals; 1 assist) had five points and Nate Kay and Hines both scored three goals.

With 6:10 left in the third quarter, Colin MacLean won the faceoff and in just nine seconds, scored his first-career goal.
