PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (February 17, 2024) – The No. 27-ranked and seventh-seeded Denison University women's squash team competed in the second consolation semifinals of the Walker Cup division at the College Squash Association National Collegiate Women's Team Championship on Saturday at the University of Pennsylvania. In the end, the Big Red ended with a 6-3 loss against No. 26-ranked and sixth-seeded Connecticut College to finish its season 8-12.
Antoinette Ramsey (11-5, 11-3, 5-11, 7-11, 11-5) and
Esme Adelman (8-11, 6-11, 12-10, 11-8, 11-9) both earned 3-2 wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, respectively.
Denison's other win was a 3-0 (11-3, 11-8, 11-8) sweep for
Lane Harding at the No. 4 seed.
Charlotte Sigg came up just short in five sets at the No. 6 seed, falling 3-2 (15-13, 11-6, 7-11, 8-11, 12-10) while
Hannah Best was just two points short of forcing a fifth set at the No. 7 seed as she fell 3-1 (11-7, 11-5, 9-11, 11-9).
