SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (Nov. 16) – The Denison University women's cross country team concluded its 2024 season by competing in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championship held Saturday at Blue River Park in Shelbyville, Ind.
Denison finished 24th out of the 39 competing teams in the 6K race. Led by first-year head coach
Veronica Rocco, the 24th place finish marks a two-spot improvement from a year ago.
Jane McNamara and
Fiona Martinelli led the Big Red in the event. McNamara capped her strong first year by posting a time of 23:59.43 to finish in 82nd place in the 270-runner field. Martinelli was next at 83rd overall with a time of 24:02.54.
Floralysse Biteau was the third fastest runner for the Big Red. Biteau logged a time of 24:42.21 to finish in 123rd place.
Lexi Verdell rounded out the top four for Denison by finishing in 177th place with a time of 25:42.99.
Lulu Visocky-O'Grady finished her first year with a time of 26:34.35.
Aly Marshall (26:49.05) and
Evie Sparks (28:05.34) rounded out the competing members of the Big Red.
