CANTON, N.Y. (February 5, 2023) – The No. 23 Denison University women's squash team wrapped up its first appearance at the Liberty League Championship with a 9-0 defeat to William Smith College, followed by a 7-0 victory over No. 42 Bard College. With a combined record of 2-2 during two days at the Liberty League Championship, the Big Red finished in third place in the five-team round-robin.

Against William Smith, No. 1-seeded Maria Clara Ramirez won the second set and nearly took a 2-1 lead before ultimately falling 3-1 (11-4, 7-11, 12-10, 11-5).

Then in the win over Bard, Denison dominated all five seeds that were played, posted five 11-0 sets, and held the opponent to under five points in three matches. Ramirez won 11-6, 11-4, 11-2 at the No. 1 seed, Antoinette Ramsey was victorious 11-6, 11-2, 11-0 at the No. 2 seed, Lane Harding won 11-0, 11-3, 11-0 at the No. 3 seed, Lindsey Cruikshank earned an 11-2, 11-1, 11-0 victory at the No. 4 seed, and Kate Manderlink rolled to an easy 11-1, 11-0, 11-1 win in the No. 5 spot.

With a current record of 9-5, the Big Red will now prep for the start of the College Squash Association National Championships, scheduled for February 17-19 at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
