INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (January 7, 2023) – No. 8 Denison University suffered a 207-92 loss to the No. 2-ranked team in NCAA Division-II, the University of Indianapolis, on Saturday afternoon.
Denison's group of
Shea Card,
Franceso Assalone,
Richie Kurlich and
Aidan Lane finished third with a time of 1:36.77 in the 200 medley relay before Kurlich, Lane,
Richie Stewart and
Dhinal Weerasinghe finished second in the 200 freestyle relay at 1:25.23.
Kurlich finished second in both the 100 butterlfy (49.74) and the 200 butterfly (1:52.29) while
Gavin Jones was second with a time of 2:09.87 in the 200 breaststroke.
Lucas Conrads (9:50.23),
Sam Myaard (9:55.72) and
Tyler Distenfeld (10:01.68) finished second, third and fourth, respectively, in the 1000 freestyle while
Nick Settembrine (54.35),
Josh Song (54.99) and
James Pastore (56.00) did the same in the 100 backstroke.
Patrick Daly (1:44.99) and
Christian McIntire (1:45.19) finished second and third in the 200 freestyle. Then in the final individual swim, Daly (1:55.17) and Jones (1:58.61) were then second and third in the 200 IM.
Daly (47.27), Weerasinghe (48.61) and Stewart (48.76) finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 100 freestyle while Conrads (4:47.06),
Christian Narcelles (4:49.04) and Distenfeld (4:54.25) finished in the same order in the 500 freestyle.
Elijah Venos (59.06) and Jones (59.89) finished fifth and sixth in the 100 breaststroke while Stewart (21.93) and Lane (22.01) did the same in the 50 freestyle.
Patrick Madden (1:58.91) and McIntire (2:04.85) finished third and fourth in the 200 backstroke.
Brendan Stanley (278.92) and
Kristian Kowalski (244.57) were second and third in the 3-meter dive. Then in the 1-meter dive, it was Kowalski (269.25) who took third while Stanley (247.80) was fourth and
Brendan Downey (218.32) was fifth.
Denison returns to the pool next Saturday, January 14, when they host Carnegie Mellon University and Calvin University at 1 p.m. at the Trumbull Aquatics Center.
