GRANVILLE, Ohio (April 20, 2022) – The Denison University men's lacrosse team defeated DePauw University 26-2 under the lights on Wednesday night inside Deeds Field-Piper Stadium to win their fifth game in a row, reach the 10-win mark on the season at 10-4 overall, and improve to a perfect 6-0 both in the North Coast Athletic Conference and in home games.
The first quarter was the
Ethan Tyack show as he scored the first goal of the game and then either scored or assisted on each of Denison's first six goals of the contest.
The Big Red led it 7-0 after the first quarter and 13-0 at halftime before DePauw got on the board with five minutes left in the third quarter to make it 18-1.
Camden Bowdy would finish with a career-high seven goals and added four assists for a total of 11 points, only one point shy of the Denison program record for points that he matched last season.
Tyack finished with three goals and five assists for the second time in the last three games while freshman
Lawton Corrigan recorded his first career hat trick.
Jack Hines and
Tommy Quinson both had two goals and one assist, and senior
Sean Bailey and juniors
Douglas Brooks and
Reid Edelstein each scored their first goal of the season as 14 different Big Red players scored at least one goal.
Additionally, Denison's starting goalkeeper
Archer Darrach (8-1) finished with eight saves and only one goal allowed through the first three quarters before freshman
Luke Liggett played the next nine and a half minutes and then another freshman,
Charlie Driscoll, made his Denison debut and finished with three saves in the final five and a half minutes.
Next up, Denison's Senior Day will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, against Allegheny College.
