GRANVILLE, Ohio (March 5, 2022) – The No. 12 Denison University women's tennis team earned its second win against a fellow nationally-ranked team in its first four matches of the season, this time defeating No. 32 Hope College by a final score of 7-2 at home inside the Mitchell Fieldhouse.
 
Notable Results:
Doubles

• Denison pulled off the sweep of the doubles action with an 8-4 win by Sydney Cianciola and Sarah Robertson in the No. 1 spot, an 8-3 win by Hannah Bradvica and Kendall Schrader in the No. 3 spot, and then a tight 8-7 (7-5) victory in the No. 2 position by Monique Brual and Caroline Lopez.
• Cianciola and Robertson improved to 3-0 together at No. 1 doubles so far this season.

Singles

• In singles, Cianciola won 6-4, 6-1 in the top spot while Brual won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles to clinch the victory.
• In the No. 5 and No. 6 spots, Lopez won a third set super tiebreaker 6-0, 3-6, 1-0 (10-8) in the five hole while Schrader closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-3 win in the six spot.
• At No. 4 singles, Bradvica forced a third set super tiebreaker herself, but fell 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8).

 
Records:

• Denison improved to a 3-1 start for the third year in a row while also defeating Hope (3-4) for the fourth time in a row.

 
Next Up: For the second weekend in a row, the Big Red will face a quick turnaround from Saturday to Sunday as this time, Denison hosts Kalamazoo College a 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 6.
