CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. (March 26, 2022) – The No. 20 Denison University men's lacrosse team opened up North Coast Athletic Conference action with a 27-6 win on the road at Wabash College on Saturday afternoon at Fischer Field.
Denison (5-3 overall, 1-0 NCAC) improved to 8-0 all-time against Wabash (3-5, 0-1) since the series began in 2015 while averaging over 26 goals per game across those meetings.
In this one, Denison scored eight goals in one quarter twice, including an 8-2 lead after just the first quarter and an advantage of 13-4 at halftime.
The Big Red outshot the Little Giants by 40 (64-14), and 45 more groundballs (65-20), won 32 of the 37 faceoffs, and were a perfect 18-for-18 on clears.
Peter Tyack finished with four goals and two assists (6 points) and
Will McFadden had three goals and one assist (4 points).
Also recording at least three points were
Camden Bowdy (3 goals),
Liam Savage (1 goal, 2 assists) and
Lawton Corrigan (2 goals, 1 assist).
Colin MacLean finished with 10 groundballs and was 15-for-16 on faceoffs while
Sam Wadsworth was 10-for-11 on faceoffs.
The Big Red will play in nonconference action at Grove City College at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, before returning to Granville for their first home NCAC game of the season at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, against Kenyon College to kick off the final month of the regular season.
