CARLISLE, Pa. (December 3, 2022) – In its second straight matchup featuring two teams ranked in the top-30 of the 2022-2023 College Squash Team Rankings, the No. 27 Denison University women's squash team earned a 9-0 victory over No. 26 Dickinson College on Saturday at the Kline Center in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Denison (3-2 overall) earned 3-0 sweeps by
Maria Clara Ramirez (No. 1 seed),
Lane Harding (No. 3 seed),
Coco Ogden (No. 5 seed) and
Kate Manderlink (No. 6 seed) while
Lindsey Cruikshank (No. 4 seed) and
Charlotte Sigg (No. 7 seed) both came back to win 3-1 after dropping their first sets by a close scores of 11-9.
At the No. 2 seed,
Antoinette Ramsey won the first two sets 11-4 and 11-6 before being taken to the limit and needing to pull out an 11-5 win in the fifth set to earn the close 3-2 victory and preserve the third team sweep so far this season for the Big Red.
It was a great turnaround for a Denison squad that was swept 9-0 by Dickinson (0-3) last season, all by a score of 3-0.
Next up, Denison will remain at Dickinson to battle No. 28 Haverford College in a neutral match starting at 11 a.m. on Sunday, December 4.
