PITTSBURGH, Pa. (November 19, 2022) – In a matchup featuring two teams ranked in the top-30 of the 2022-23 College Squash Preseason Team Rankings, No. 23-ranked Chatham University earned a hard-fought 5-4 victory over the No. 27-ranked Denison University women's squash team on Friday night at Shady Side Academy in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Denison (2-2 overall) swept each of the bottom four seeds while Chatham (2-2) swept each of the top five spots. The pivotal match was a near comeback win at the No. 1 seed by Maria Clara Ramirez, who instead come up just short in five sets (11-8, 11-8, 4-11, 7-11, 11-7).

Kate Manderlink won 11-5, 11-4, 11-9 in the No. 6 seed while Denison earned dominant wins from Charlotte Sigg (11-2, 11-2, 11-2) in the No. 7 seed, Hannah Best (11-2, 11-0, 11-3) in the No. 8 spot, and Natalie Stanchina (11-3, 11-4, 11-1) in the final position.

This concludes action for the month of November for the Big Red, who will not return to the court until the first week of December for a pair of matches in a return trip to Pennsylvania. Denison will take on No. 26 Dickinson College in a road matchup at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, before battling No. 28 Haverford College in neutral action at Dickinson the next day, Sunday, December 4, at 11 a.m.
