ANNAPOLIS, Md. (November 13, 2022) – The No. 27 Denison University women's squash team swept Boston University 9-0 to finish the Navy Round Robin 2-1 overall. It was the second sweep during the opening weekend for the Big Red under the direction of new head coach
Michael MacDonald, and was the second time none of the Denison players dropped a set.
No. 1 seed
Maria Clara Ramirez improved to 3-0 and earned her third straight sweep to start her collegiate career with a 12-10 win in the third set while the rest of the team improved to 2-1.
No. 2 seed
Antoinette Ramsey needed a pair of 13-11 tiebreaker wins in her first two sets before finishing off the sweep while No. 4 seed
Lindsey Cruikshank won while only dropping five total points (11-1, 11-2, 11-2).
No. 7 seed
Charlotte Sigg won in straight 11-2 sets while No. 8 seed
Hannah Best was dominating in the first and third sets of her 11-0, 11-5, 11-0 win.
The Big Red will return to action this week with their first of two trips to the state of Pennsylvania this Fall as Denison takes on No. 23 Chatham University at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, November 18.
