GRANVILLE, Ohio (October 29, 2022) – The No. 3 nationally-ranked Denison University men's swimming team fell to NCAA Division I Xavier University by a final score of 178-84 on Saturday afternoon during the Big Red's first home meet of the 2022-23 season at the Trumbull Aquatics Center. Denison had three first-place finishes and 13 finishes in the top-three, but it would not be enough as the Big Red fell to the Musketeers for the first time in their last seven dual meets against each other.

Richie Kurlich led Denison with a pair of wins in the 100 and 200 butterfly while Aidan Lane earned the win in the 50 freestyle.

The meet was kicked off by Denison's team of Chris Luus, Gavin Jones, Kurlich and Dhinal Weerasinghe finishing in second place with a time of 1:33.92 in the 200 medley relay.

Kurlich picked up Denison's first win of the day, doing so with an NCAA National "B" cut time of 1:49.29 in the 200 butterfly before Lane won the 50 freestyle one event later with a time of 21.45 seconds.

Narcelles was fourth in the 100 freestyle with a mark of 47.58 seconds and Connor Brown was fifth in the 200 backstroke at 2:00.08.

Denison finished in order between third and fifth place in the 200 breaststroke as Assalone finished in 2:11.24 to take third while right behind him was Jones (2:11.60) and then Josh Thomas (2:14.31).

Conrads took second place in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:47.95 before Kurlich picked up his second win of the day with a time of 49.44 seconds in the 100 butterfly.
