#24 Big Red sweep Scots in doubleheader

GRANVILLE, Ohio -- No. 24 Denison women's tennis picked up two 9-0 sweeps over the College of Wooster on Saturday at the Denison Tennis Courts in Granville.

Match 1

To start off the first match, the 19th-ranked pair of Alex Cash and Hannah Cianciola defeated Wooster's Otilia Oita and Sarah Duran, 8-2. Devin Gramley and Monique Brual followed with a 8-1 win over Laura Haley and Abby Kushner Benson. Hannah Bradvica and Natalie Overby took down Abby Aitken and Kimberly Nguyen, 8-1.
In singles, Cash defeated Oita, 6-2, 6-1 in No. 1 play while Hannah Cianciola took down Duran, 6-2, 6-0 on the No. 2 court. Brual defeated Nguyen in No. 3 doubles, 6-2, 6-3.
Continuing the Big Red's win streak was Gramley, who posted a pair of dominant 6-0 wins over Haley. Bradvica defeated Kushner Benson with a pair of 6-1 wins. Closing out the first match was freshman Kendall Schrader who took down Kendra Devereux, 6-1, 6-0.

Match 2

In the second match, Cash and Cianciola picked up right where they left off, taking down Haley and Duran with an 8-0 win. Gramley and Brual followed with a strong 8-0 win over Aitken and Nguyen. Closing out doubles action was the pair of Schrader and Susan Biederstedt, picking up a 8-3 win over Anesu Munyanyi and Emma Saxton.
On the singles court, Cash defeated Duran, 6-0, 6-1. Brual took down Nguyen with a pair of 6-1 wins and Gramley defeated Haley, 6-2, 6-1.
In the last three matchups of the day, Bradvica defeated Devereux, 6-1, 6-0. Schrader continued her strong play with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout over Aitken. Biederstedt picked up her first win in singles on the season, defeating Saxton with a pair of 6-1 wins. The two wins bring the Big Red to 3-1 as the Fighting Scots fell to 0-4.

The Big Red will return to action on Saturday, April 10 when they welcome No. 12 Kenyon College to Granville for a 2 p.m. match at the Denison Tennis Courts.
