Darren Rubin scored a career-high 17 points and
Will Hunter added 12 as Denison posted a 71-52 win over Wittenberg on Saturday afternoon at Pam Evans-Smith Arena. The win avenged Thursday's heartbreaking double-overtime loss to the Tigers at Livingston Gymnasium.
Denison got off to a fast start, shooting 53 percent in the first half powered by 10 points from Rubin. DU held a 37-24 lead over the
Tigers at the intermission. In the second half, Denison shot 41 percent from the field while playing with a double-digit lead throughout.
Rubin was 7-for-11 from the field and 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. He also added a team-high six rebounds.
Conor Fenton added 11 points, five rebounds, three steals and three assists.
Wittenberg was led in scoring by Daniel Asher who scored 10 points off the bench.
Denison will close out the abbreviated 2021 season on Wednesday when they travel to Wabash for a 6 p.m. game against the Little Giants.
