Denison rallies for 38-37 win over OWU

DELAWARE, Ohio- Pat Kramer connected on a 28-yard field goal with 27 seconds left to lead Denison to a thrilling 38-37 win over Ohio Wesleyan University from Selby Stadium.

Kramer's game-winner came after Ohio Wesleyan kicker Gabe Philhower booted a 43-yard field goal with 5:21 remaining to put the Battling Bishops on top, 37-35. Denison took over on their own 22 yard line and Dawkins quickly moved them into OWU territory after completions to DJ Johnson and Peyton Vining. On 3rd and 3 from the OWU 11, Dawkins' pass was batted down, forcing a field goal attempt by Kramer.

Ohio Wesleyan did have one last gasp when Zan Ries' Hail Mary throw from midfield was batted down by a Denison defender in the end zone as time expired.
  • Denison junior quarterback Drew Dawkins was 19-of-29 for 235 yards and 3 TDs. He also carried the ball 13 times for 65 yards.
  • Junior running back Andrew Blanchard posted his first career 100-yard rushing game as he toted the ball 23 times for 127 yards. The Big Red outgained OWU 260-86 on the ground.
