GRANVILLE, Ohio-- Denison posted nine event victories and that was enough to propel them to a convincing 155-106 victory over Division I Xavier from the Trumbull Aquatics Center.
Denison's
Richie Kurlich swept the breaststroke events with a time of 2:04.06 in the 200 and a time of 56.83 in the 100 breast.
After being named North Coast Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week on Feb. 8,
Trey Ike posted a pair of wins. He won the 50 free in 20.93 and posted a time of 46.55 to win the 100 free.
The Big Red went 1-2-3 in the 200 free led by Nick Czepukaitis' time of 1:44.31.
Ryan Foreback was the runner-up in 1:44.47 while
Drake Horton checked in third in 1:44.76.
John Stauffer won the 200 fly (1:51.20) and the 400 IM in 4:02.59. The 1000 free belonged to
Sam Myaard who covered the event in 9:27.92. He returned to take second in the 500 free in 4:38.11. DU's wins were rounded out by
Patrick Madden who held off teammate
Peter Morley for a win with a time of 1:56.00.
Denison returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 27 when they host Wooster at 11 a.m. The meet will be streamed live by the Denison Sports Network beginning at 10:45 a.m.
