Box Score GRANVILLE, Ohio – Denison volleyball returned to Livingston Gymnasium on Tuesday night as the Big Red fell to No. 22 Ohio Northern University 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 26-24).
Denison was led by senior Leah Reinfranck and freshman Emma Woerner who totaled 10 kills each, while Alex Tubbs added seven kills. Junior Julia Miller paced the Big Red with 28 assists and Kristin Thewes contributed a match-high 34 digs. The Polar Bears had four players finish with eight kills or more, led by sophomore Sydney Bapst who finished with 10 kills.
After dropping the first two sets and falling behind in the third set 24-17, DU totaled seven straight points thanks to kills from Woerner, Tubbs, and freshman Kaila Kasper to tie it at 24-24. Back-to-back points from the Polar Bears ended Denison's rally and the match as the loss moves the Big Red to 7-5 overall.
Denison will hit the road this Thursday, Sept. 28 as they travel to Bluffton, Ohio for a 7 p.m. match with Bluffton University.
