HOLLAND, Mich.-- No. 29 Hope College won two of three doubles points and took five of six singles matches to stop the Big Red women's tennis team, 7-2 on Saturday afternoon.
Denison got a win at No. 1 doubles as Lauren Hawley and Emma Alsup teamed up for an 8-3 win over Nancy Benda and Quincy Glupker.
At first singles, Hawley accounted for Denison's lone point as she took care of Benda, 6-1, 6-2. At No. 4 singles, Denison's Ashley Hammons took Taylor LaBarge to a third set before falling, 4-6, 6-3, 10-6.
No. 25 Denison (0-5) will look to rebound on Sunday when they travel to Kalamazoo for a 2 p.m. match against the Hornets.
