Denison squared off against its fourth nationally-ranked opponent of the young season on Saturday afternoon inside Mitchell Fieldhouse and the Big Red would come away with a 7-2 win over Kalamazoo College.
DU entered the match ranked 23rd in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III rankings while Kalamazoo checked in 39th in the top-40 poll.
The Big Red swept doubles play thanks to an 8-3 win by Lauren Hawley and Meg Chiumento in the first flight. Courtney Brown and Emma Alsup defeated Maria Franco and Eloise Germic at No. 2 doubles, 8-2 while Megan Hickey and Sarah Torrence also dispatched their opponents 8-2 in the third flight.
In singles play, Kalamazoo picked up a pair of three-set wins at No. 1 and No. 2 as Woods and Franco prevailed 10-7 in a third set super tiebreaker against Hawley and Brown, respectively.
At third singles, Chiumento breezed by Sabrina Dass, 6-0, 6-1 and Alsup made short work of Siani Johnson at fourth singles, 6-0, 6-0.
At No. 5, Hickey topped Germic 6-0, 6-1 while Torrence finished things off with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Katie Clark.
The Big Red is 4-2 while Kalamazoo drops to 1-3 on the year. In addition to both squads being nationally ranked, Denison entered the match ranked fifth in the region while Kalamazoo was eighth.
Denison's next match will be on March 14 when they take on Division I Colgate in Puerto Rico.
