Box Score 2 Denison volleyball ended their season with a fourth-place finish at the 2016 North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament. After Friday night's 3-1 NCAC Quarterfinal victory over Kenyon, the Big Red was paired against No. 2 seed, DePauw, with a ticket to the conference tournament championship on the line. DePauw took the first set 25-14 and never looked back as they dispatched the Big Red, 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-10).
Leah Reinfranck led Denison with 11 kills on 25 attempts. She finished with a team-best .320 attack percentage. Rachele Lock followed with nine kills and eight digs. Kaileigh Poe led Denison with 13 assists and Kristin Thewes finished with 15 digs.
DePauw got 13 kills and a .565 hitting percentage from Suzanne Peters. Keegan Kollias had 34 assists on the team's 45 kills.
With the loss, Denison was set to face Ohio Wesleyan in the third-place match. After falling in the first set, 25-16, the Big Red rallied for a 25-13 victory in the second. After tying the match, the Battling Bishops went on to take sets three and four, 25-10 and 25-14, respectively.
The loss to Ohio Wesleyan landed Denison in fourth place in the final tournament standings. It also closes out their season with a 12-17 record. The Battling Bishops improved to 19-13 with the win.
Against OWU, Denison was led in kills by Lock (10) and Reinfranck (9). Poe finished with 28 assists and Thewes led the team with 17 digs and two service aces. Up front, Isabella Pivec posted four blocks.
For the Bishops, Iris Anderson finished with 16 kills and Brianna La Croix added 12.
At the conclusion of the event, Reinfranck was named to the seven-player All-Tournament team.
