Box Score The Big Red volleyball team dropped a four-set decision (25-6, 25-14, 23-25, 25-17) at seventh-ranked Wittenberg on Wednesday evening in Springfield, Ohio.
Freshman Olivia Buroker paced the offense with 10 kills, while sophomore Leah Reinfranck and junior Rachele Lock each had five kills. Sophomore Kaileigh Poe and freshman Isabella Pivec ended the night with four finishers each. Poe also dished out 26 assists to go along with 11 digs and one ace. Defensively, sophomore libero Kristin Thewes registered 14 digs, while Buroker chipped in 13. Reinfranck paced the team with three block assists, while Lock and Pivec had two apiece.
Kara Seidenstricker led the Tigers with 14 kills, while Karen Wildemann handed out 24 assists. Melissa Emming and Courtney Huck combined for seven of the team's 10 aces, while Kristina Fultz led the team with 26 digs.
Denison falls to 7-6 on the season and 1-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, while Wittenberg improves to 13-1 and 3-0 in league play. DU returns to action on Saturday (Oct. 3) when they travel to Bethany, W. Va. for a tri-match with Heidelberg (1 p.m.) and the host Bisons (3 p.m.).
