Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Denison returned to Wittenberg for the consolation bracket of the 2015 North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday.  The Big Red would start the day with a gritty five-set win over Allegheny (19-25, 13-25, 25-18, 25-16, 15-5), but returned with a 3-0 loss to Kenyon (25-16, 25-23, 25-17) in the fifth-place match.  Denison would leave the tournament in sixth place after a 1-2 showing at the two-day, eight-team tournament.

In the win over Allegheny, things looked grim as the Gators jumped out to a 2-0 lead after topping the Big Red, 25-19 and 25-13 in the first two sets.

In the third set, DU rallied for a 25-18 win.  In the fourth set, it was more of the same as the Big Red cruised to a 25-16 win.  In the decisive third set, the Big Red slammed the door on the improbable comeback by winning the final seven points to lock down a 15-5 win.

Three players reached double-digits in kills versus Allegheny as Elena Lein led the way with 15 and a hitting percentage of .357.  Brittany Perry and Rachel Lock both tallied 13 kills while Kaileigh Poe dished out 42 assists.  Kristin Thewes was there for 38 digs and Leah Reinfranck added two blocks.

In the fifth-place match versus Kenyon, Delaney Swanson had a big match for the Ladies as she racked up 21 kills on just 47 attempts.  Lein led DU with 12 kills while hitting 41 percent.  Poe accounted for 28 of the team's 32 assists while Carly Newell (14), Thewes (17) and Poe (16) split up the digs.

By going 1-1, Denison ended the year with a 14-14 record.  At the conclusion of the tournament, it was announced that senior Lein was named to the All-NCAC first-team after leading the team in kills (234) and hitting percentage (.349).  Lein leaves Denison with 1,002 kills and a .330 career attack percentage.  She is the seventh player in DU volleyball history to log over 1,000 career kills.

Other honorees for Denison included Lock and Reinfranck who were each named to the NCAC honorable mention list.
