No. 25 OWU earns second win over DU

The 25th-ranked Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops picked up a 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-17) victory over Denison on Wednesday evening at Branch Rickey Arena in Delaware, Ohio.

Senior Elena Lein and junior Rachele Lock led the Big Red with eight kills each, while freshman Olivia Buroker finished with five. Lein also posted a .471 hitting percentage and had two blocks, while fellow senior Kenzie Kuhn registered a team-best three rejections.

Sophomore Kaileigh Poe handed out 23 assists and served up three of the team's four aces, while Hannah Glick had the other ace. Sophomore libero Kristin Thewes paced the defense with 19 digs.

Ohio Wesleyan was led by Iris Anderson's 15 kills and three aces, while Shannon Schlater had 34 assists and two aces. Nina Carmichael-Tanaka finished with 20 digs, while Anderson added 12.

Denison falls to 10-9 overall and 2-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, while the Bishops improve to 21-2 and 5-1 in conference play. DU returns to action on Saturday when they host Allegheny at 1 p.m.
