Box Score Denison collected its 10th win of the season and the fourth in its last five matches following a 3-0 (25-19, 25-13, 25-8) nonconference victory at Franciscan on Friday night in Steubenville, Ohio.
Junior Brittany Perry paced the offense with a .471 attacking percentage after registering eight kills on 17 attempts, while sophomore Rachele Lock and freshman Leah Reinfranck each chipped in seven kills. Sophomore Sarah Bradley and junior Haley Butters added five and four kills, respectively.
Senior setter Jessica Borsani dished out a team-best 18 assists, while sophomore Carly Newell had 13 assists. Freshman Kristen Brennan notched three of the squad's seven aces, while Emily Marguerite, Reinfranck, Kristin Thewes and Borsani recorded the other aces.
Marguerite paced the defense with 18 digs, while Newell checked in with 13. At the net, Elena Lein posted four solo blocks.
As a team, the Big Red committed a season-low nine attacking errors. DU's .315 attacking percentage also marked the squad's second-best hitting percentage this season.
Amy O'Keefe paced Franciscan with seven kills to go along with 12 digs. Rachel Potopa finished with seven assists and two aces, while Sam Kelly collected 16 digs.
With the win, Denison moves to 10-10 on the year, while the Lady Barons fall to 8-14. The Big Red opens a three-game homestand on Wednesday when they host North Coast Athletic Conference rival Ohio Wesleyan at 7 p.m.
