No. 10 Wittenberg overpowers Big Red

No. 10 Wittenberg entered tonight's match with second-place Denison needing a victory to secure hosting rights for next weekend's North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament.  The Tigers checked into the contest having won 42 consecutive NCAC regular season matches and they made short work of the upstart Big Red, prevailing 3-0 (25-12, 25-7, 25-9).

Denison got eight kills from Lauren Gustafson who managed a .368 hitting percentage.  Kenzie Kuhn added three blocks and Emily Marguerite finished with 11 digs from her libero position.

Wittenberg got 13 kills from Andrea Behling and 29 assists from Meghan Vodopich.  Kara Seidenstricker also chipped in a match-high four service aces.

Denison drops to 18-7 overall and 6-2 in the NCAC with the loss.  They are finished with conference play, and will be the No. 3 seed in the NCAC Tournament when it kicks off next Friday (Nov. 8) in Springfield.  The Big Red will complete its regular season slate on Saturday (Nov. 2) when they travel to Oberlin, Ohio to take on Olivet College in a neutral site match.
