Box Score 2 On Saturday, Denison dropped a 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-17) decision to Hiram in North Coast Athletic Conference action before ending the day with a three-set (25-14, 25-12, 25-14) win over La Roche.
Against the Redhawks, first-years Elena Lein and Brittany Perry paced the Big Red offense with 14 and 13 kills apiece, while Elsa Manning added seven finishers. Setter Jessica Borsani dished out 37 assists, while Allie Becker, Sydney Garverick, Sarah Blum and Borsani all logged a service ace.
Defensively, Emily Marguerite posted nine digs, while Blum and Borsani chipped in eight and seven, respectively. At the net, Mary Frances Gardner finished with four block assists. Annemarie Fischer had a block solo and three block assists, while Lein and Borsani each had three block assists.
Against the host Terriers, Perry had seven kills and three block assists. Fischer and Manning added six kills each, while Borsani handed out 24 assists. Marguerite finished with 12 digs, while Becker and Blum each had 10 digs. Lein posted four block assists, while Emily Dean had a solo and three assisted rejections.
Denison moves its record to 13-5 overall and 1-2 in the NCAC. The Big Red continues conference play on Tuesday when they host Wooster at 7 p.m.
